The Other Press was a full-colour newspaper with 8 sections: Lettitor, News, Sports, Arts, Life & Style, Feature, and Entertainment. In my role as Layout Manager, I laid out the weekly newspaper with the assistance of the production assistant. This was my first newspaper job, and I worked there for two years. There was no pre-planning involved in the production, which took place every Monday night. Having a limited amount of time made creating new layouts a fun challenge. Aside from the main layout, the weekly featured article required a custom spread pertaining to the piece. I also contributed illustrations, playlists, and comics when needed.
